MoreDesc

MoreDesc n' Notes lets you complete or replace a product's description according to a specific third party and a set of documents (quotes, orders, customer and supplier invoices). The module also lets you quickly add predefined notes.

Overview

The module consists of two features:

• creating and using custom labels and descriptions for products
• creating and using note templates that can be easily added to the native public and private notes

Configuration

Enabling the module

To use the MoreDesc module, go to Home > Setup > Modules/Applications, then enable the MoreDesc module.

Overview of the module settings

In the MoreDesc plugin settings, you can configure 4 options: Description in HTML: Lets you switch to HTML formatting for the additional descriptions. Timer on public notes: Adds a time indicator on the public notes. Timer on private notes: Adds a time indicator on the private notes. Disable Patas-Monkey version control: Disables update checking for the MoreDesc plugin. The Timers are native but hidden Dolibarr features; the module simply lets you manage them easily.

Installing the corechange (Dolibarr versions below 24)

For the note templates to display, you need to apply a corechange on Dolibarr versions below V24.

Configuring the features

The features are configured from the Patas tools menu. Two menus on the left let you manage the descriptions and the notes.

Managing descriptions (MoreDesc)

Creating

Preview — Creating a new description To create a new description, click on New Description in the left-hand tab. You then get the preview shown here, which lets you create a new description. Label: Set the Label of the new description. Third party: Set the Third party to which the new description is attached. Product: Set the Product to which the new description will be attached. Add/Replace Add: The description you have written will be added to the associated product's base description. Replace: The description you have written will completely replace the associated product's base description; only this one will be present. Alternative label: Sets the alternative label of the new description. Description: Text of the new description. Status: Sets the status of the new description. There are 3 possible statuses: Draft / Validated / Cancelled. Active Description Space: Check the section(s) in which you want to be able to activate the new description.

Editing/deleting

Editing Editing is only done from the description record. You can switch the record's status to Draft or Validated in 1 click from the record. Draft > Validated Validated > Draft However, if you want to change other settings on the description record, you will need to click on Edit. This will take you back to the same interface as when creating the record.

Deleting
A Description can be deleted from the description record via the Delete button.

You will then need to select the Description(s) to delete, select the action to perform (in this case, delete), then confirm the action.

List of descriptions You will see all the descriptions created from the MoreDesc descriptions list, with the following information: Label Third party Product Add/Replace Status

List of descriptions from the third-party record

Third-party record On a Third party record that has descriptions, you can access the list of these descriptions from the MoreDesc sub-page of the record. This lets you view and search the descriptions associated with this third party/company using the following filters: Label Products Action (Add or Replace) Status

Product/Service record On a Product/Service record that has descriptions, you can access the list of these descriptions from the MoreDesc sub-page of the record. This lets you view and search the descriptions associated with this Product/Service using the following filters: Label Third party Action (Add or Replace) Status

Managing note templates (MoreNotes)

To create a new MoreNote, click on New MoreNotes in the left-hand tab; you then get the preview shown here, which lets you create a new MoreNote.

Editing/deleting

To edit a MoreNote, go to the record of the MoreNote in question and click on Edit; this will take you back to the same tab as when creating a MoreNote.
The Delete button will delete the MoreNote in question and remove the feature that allows this note to be quickly added to the space it was linked to.

The MoreNotes list lets you see which MoreNotes you have created and their information: Title Attachment elements Public / Private Description Author
